About

Jennifer Griffiths has been making art, primarily with photographs for five plus decades. This site is a survey of many of the works she has produced. Initially trained as a fine art photographer doing black and white and then learning color and becoming a commercial photographer.

Through various series work, Griffiths has explored making images with color transparencies, collage, magazine transfer, cyanotypes, mixed media and acrylic painting. In each section here you will be able to glimpse some of the most stunning of her works from each series beginning in 1970 up until the present.  As she puts it:  "My folks were supportive of my creative desires from very early on. My first real camera was an Argus my dad gave me, a 1940's job where you had to estimate distance to focus.  Before that I had this great little Brownie which I used to photograph my younger sister the summer before my first photo class in high school."

This website takes you on a journey of style and discovery. An exploration like that of many artists as they travel through their creative lives being touched by so many relationships both creative and worldly. "The best we can do is put to paper as quickly as possible what our eyes and intuitive sense guides us to make."  Enjoy !  JCG
